We live in uncertain times.
The political environment is in flux and the 2019 Edelman Trust Barometer has labelled the UK as the ‘Disunited Kingdom’. But intriguing trends are emerging. Belief in the ability of business to lead the way has risen; CEOs are seen as having the power to effect change and employees are looking to their employer for leadership. And with just 11 years left to fulfil the UN Sustainable Development Goals, it’s clear that business has an important role to play in helping to achieve them.
A new bond of trust, perhaps our most precious resource, is forming and that’s why trust is the theme for the inaugural issue of Sustainability Matters. We hope you enjoy reading it.
